1988 Gibson WRC Showcase Edition (Only 200 made!)

€ 1.095,-

A rare gem from the eighties! This is a Gibson WRC model designed by Wayne Charvel. There’s too much of these around, and this particularly rare as it’s one of only 200 Showcase Edition models that we’re made in 1988 only! Apparently the model was ultimately discontinued due to a lawsuit from Jackson.

The showcase Edition is equipped with active EMG pickups instead of the passive Bill Lawerence designed pickups that came in the standard WRC model, and has an additional switch to engage the bridge pickup in any given position. The pearl white color was also limited to the Showcase models and has aged nicely on this guitar. The WRC also features an ebony fretboard with very flat radius, as well as jumbo frets which together with it’s slim neck make it play very comfortable.

The guitar is stock, however the original case and COA are missing hence the price. A collectors grade WRC Showcase Edition will easily fetch 1.500,- or more these days. This is still a very rare guitar in original condition, and most importantly it’s a great player that’s surprisingly versatile as well.

A Gibson gigbag is included.
